Eugowra is a historical town located north west of Canowindra, in Cabonne-Forbes country. For lovers of things natural, nearby is located the very-natural Nangar National Park.
This town has a place in history, being the location of the largest gold robbery in Australia's history. In 1862 bushrangers, headed by Frank Gardiner and including Ben Hall, relieved a gold escort of 14,000 pounds of gold and bank notes. Amazingly, injuries were minimal. One police officer was shot through his hat and another had his "privates" injured.
