Murrumbidgee Farm Fair
The Murrumbidgee Farm Fair would probably be the biggest event in Leeton in the year. The event aims to showcase the latest in agricultural products and services, enabling farmers and their families the opportunity to view, compare and buy a comprehensive range of products designed for effective, efficient farming and rural practices.
Forget about it just being for farmers. There is sideshow alley, which most show-goers would be familiar with. Thus, it is a reasonable day out for a family, at a reasonable cost.
Management of the event changed in 2006/07 and is now operated by Rural Press. A rival event began in Griffith in 2007. Both towns are claiming success for their respective events in 2007.
The event is held in Yanco, near Leeton, in May of each year. The event in 2007 was, quite literally, dampened, due to rain. Thus numbers were down on the preceding year, as can be seen in the following photos...
Unfortunately, the year we decide to take photos was a year that really did not give the event justice. Weather permitting, it will be better in following years.
Finished with the Farm Fair? Return to Leeton, or visit another town.
