"Having been through the town on a number of occasions, I can say that Goondiwindi has more to offer than other towns of similar size. I guess it has to because it caters for travellers who have had to travel many k's to get here. Anyway, try the usual franchise stores. My favourite is Red Rooster. I would not recommend eating instore (didn't look too clean) but go to the end of the main street, which runs into the river walkway. It is quite picturesque along the river.

On one occasion recently I filled my car up at the Freedom Fuels, located in the main street. They had a special fuel for sale, which was cheaper than regular unleaded. The console operator explained it had 10% ethanol which, reportedly, was better for my car. Was it better? Well I didn't have any troubles, so it wasn't worse. I do recommend filling up before you head into New South Wales, because you will notice the price going up as you head down the Newell Highway." - Great Australian Homes.com
