Although being a small village, Manildra is home to the largest flour mill in the southern hemisphere. And what's more, the mill is getting even bigger! Obviously flour is big business here. So much so that the National Bread Show is held here. The mill is operated by the Manildra Group, and it is obvious where it got its name. Big business means big employment opportunities, so don't overlook this village because it is small.
The village is about half way between Orange and Forbes. It has the oldest running cinema in Australia. The cinema's name is The Amusu, pronounced "amuse-you." It was established in 1936, and still shows movies, although only once a month.
