Yanco
Yanco must have a population of around 1,000. According to figures from the Leeton Shire Council, the population of Leeton and Yanco combined is 8,000. Being so close to Leeton, the town serves almost as a suburb of Leeton. As a result, anyone working in Leeton may find more affordable accommodation here. The village has more amenities than you would expect for a village. A nice park is located in town with a lake always full of water. Ducks and geese are in plentiful supply around the lake. Like Leeton, the town is well served by the Murrumbidgee Irrigation scheme. There is plenty of water for the locals and farmers. The main crops growing around Yanco are oranges and wine grapes.
This is a small community that has a few things to see and do. There is an old powerhouse converted into a museum. Each month there are markets and a model railway display. Sport is big here, particularly rugby league. The Hawks are who the locals support.
